According to a tweet by journalist Amadu Lamrana Bah, the United States Embassy in Freetown has announced that Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. Representative to the United Nations, will be visiting Sierra Leone as part of her tour to Guinea Bissau and Liberia from the 21st to 26th January 2024.
During her visit, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will meet with President Bioand other senior government officials to welcome Sierra Leone to the UN Security Council and engage in a series of bilateral and multilateral issues. She will also engage with the government, opposition leaders, and the international community on the implementation of the Agreement for National Unity
This visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between Sierra Leone and the United States, and to promote peace, stability, and development in the region
