Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Timothy Musa Kabba, has launched a new youth support movement known as NextGen for TIM in Kenema, aimed at encouraging youth participation in national development and leadership.
The launch ceremony, held in Kenema, attracted youth leaders, traditional authorities, women’s groups, religious leaders, and supporters from different communities. Organisers described the initiative as a youth-driven platform designed to inspire young people to engage positively in politics, leadership, and community service.
Speaking at the event, Kabba encouraged young Sierra Leoneans to see themselves as key stakeholders in the country’s future. He highlighted the importance of unity, discipline, and service, urging the youth to contribute meaningfully to national progress.
He also reflected on his role in government and pointed to achievements recorded under the leadership of Julius Maada Bio, noting that young people must remain actively involved in shaping the country’s development agenda.
As part of the event, Kabba made a donation of bags of rice to women present, a gesture organisers said was meant to support community welfare and show appreciation for grassroots engagement.
Supporters of the NextGen for TIM group said the movement will serve as a platform to promote leadership values, civic responsibility, and youth empowerment across the country.
The launch of the Kenema chapter marks a growing expansion of the group, with organisers saying similar initiatives are expected in other parts of Sierra Leone in the coming months.
