The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced that it will hold refresher courses for football coaches across the country.
According to the SLFA, the refresher courses are for coaches who hold CAF A, B, and C Diplomas. The programme will be organized through the SLFA Technical Department as part of efforts to improve coaching standards in Sierra Leone.
The association said the refresher courses are important to help coaches stay updated with modern football methods, new training ideas, and current coaching practices used across Africa and beyond. Football is changing every day, and it is the view of the SLFA that coaches need to be continuous learners if they are to keep abreast of changes.
The aim of this move by the SLFA is to enhance coaching qualifications at all levels of football, whether at the grass-root or senior level. The association believes that improved coaching will ensure players develop properly, thereby leading to an improvement in the standard of football within the country.

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is a member of the West African Football Union (WAFU), Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA). It was established in 1960 and has been the only national football governing body in the country mandated to administer and manage the running of Football.
The Association exists to improve the game of football constantly and regulate and control it throughout the territory of Sierra Leone in the light of fair play and its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, particularly through youth and development programs.
Also, the Association organizes competitions in association football in all its forms, at the national level, by defining precisely, as required, the areas of authority conceded to the various leagues of which it is composed.
And in organising and managing, the FA should partner with local or international service providers or company in their respective domain of operation thereby minimizing brand competition and rivalry
