Sierra Rutile has shared updates on its operations and future ambitions during the TZMI Congress 2025, held from November 11–14, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event brought together global industry experts, investors and company leaders from across the titanium and mineral sands sector.

During the congress, Sierra Rutile’s CEO delivered a speech outlining the company’s current direction and long-term plans. He spoke about ongoing efforts to modernise operations and the company’s continued focus on rutile, which has been central to Sierra Leone’s mining sector for more than 60 years. He also noted the company’s interest in exploring opportunities in rare earth elements, including heavy rare earth elements.

The company confirmed that it has completed the acquisition of the Kwale mineral separation plant. Preparations for dismantling and relocation have begun, with physical work expected to start within a month. Sierra Rutile said the plant will support future expansion plans, including the Sembehun project.

Representatives from Sierra Rutile also held meetings with several industry figures, including leaders from Dubal Holdings. These discussions focused on industry trends and potential cooperation.

Across the congress, conversations covered global supply chains, rutile market conditions and concerns around access to rare earth elements. Participants noted growing international interest in secure and reliable mineral supplies.

Sierra Rutile said this period marks an important stage in its development, with plans aimed at strengthening operations and preparing for future growth.
