Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, travelled to Guinea to deliver a special message of solidarity to President Mamady Doumbouya from President Julius Maada Bio following the tragic fire and destruction of the oil depot in Conakry on Sunday evening. The fire broke out at the Guinean Petroleum Company depot shortly after a massive explosion past midnight Sunday 1.
Jalloh led a high-level delegation comprising of Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Heads of the National Disaster Management Agency, Petroleum Regulatory Agency and a team of medical personnel. They put in place interim architecture to support Guinea’s access to petroleum products. Sierra Leone has donated three lorry loads of medical supplies to treat burn victims. This morning, 150 lorries travelled to Freetown to collect fuel to take back to Conakry 2.
