Julius Maada Bio has held high-level talks in the United Arab Emirates during an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
During the visit, President Bio was received by Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, where both leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, renewable energy and sustainability. According to reports, the meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to build stronger economic partnerships between Sierra Leone and the UAE.
The talks also focused on advancing the recently signed cooperation framework between the two countries, which is expected to open up new opportunities for development and economic growth. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together to promote progress and prosperity for their citizens.
President Bio used the visit to address regional and global issues, including security concerns in the Middle East. He condemned recent attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure in the UAE and stressed the importance of peace, stability and respect for international law.
The meeting highlights Sierra Leone’s growing diplomatic engagement on the global stage, with President Bio continuing to build relationships with international partners to attract investment and support national development priorities.
