Sierra Leonean Content Creators Visit T-Works in India as Part of Familiarisation Tour

A delegation of Sierra Leonean content creators visited T-Works, India’s largest prototyping centre, as part of the ongoing Content Creators’ Familiarisation Tour organised by the Government of India through the Indian High Commission in Sierra Leone and the Ministry of External Affairs.

The delegation includes prominent figures in Sierra Leone’s digital media landscape: Sallu Kamuskay, Co-founder of Salone Messenger; Sarah Kallay, Founder of the Sarah Kallay Blog; Aaron Parker, Editor at Sierra Loaded; and Samathan Mansaray, a rising voice in digital storytelling.

T-Works, located in Hyderabad, Telangana, is India’s premier facility for innovation and prototyping, fostering creativity in electronics, hardware, and design. During the visit, the Sierra Leonean creators were given an exclusive tour of the state-of-the-art centre, witnessing firsthand how India is supporting grassroots innovation and empowering entrepreneurs to turn ideas into tangible solutions.

“This visit is an eye-opener,” said Sallu Kamuskay. “T-Works represents the kind of technological and creative investment we hope to see replicated in Africa. It’s inspiring to see such infrastructure made accessible to young innovators. Seeing 10 year old kid talking about coding and how he is building something the world badly needs is amazing”

Sarah Kallay echoed the sentiment, noting that T-Works demonstrates the impact of children in innovation nurturing digital creativity. “Seeing innovations brought out from thought to life by children of less than twelve years, hearing them deconstruct prototypes verbally or assembling them is truly a marvel.”  She said ?

She added that she is hopeful for future of this in Africa “ The possibility that this will happening someday in Africa makes one hopeful. T-works is futuristic in the present.,” she added.

The Content Creators’ Familiarisation Tour, which spans several cities in India, aims to build people-to-people ties between India and African nations. It brings together creators from West and Central Africa to explore India’s cultural, technological, and social advancements and share their experiences with audiences back home.

The tour has included stops at the India Gate in New Delhi, the iconic Taj Mahal, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and now T-Works in Hyderabad. The delegation is also engaging in cross-cultural exchange programs and strategic networking sessions with Indian media and innovation leaders.
