Dr. Moses N. Batema, Chairman of the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, and Dr. James P. Komeh, the Board’s Registrar, have paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of India to Sierra Leone ahead of their official visit to India.
The visit comes in preparation for their participation in the 2nd Policy Makers Program scheduled to take place from June 16 to 19, 2025. The program is expected to bring together senior officials from various countries to engage in policy-level discussions and capacity building in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
According to the Indian High Commission in Freetown, the meeting served as an opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation in health regulation and pharmaceutical governance, as well as to strengthen ties between the two countries in the health sector.
India has been increasingly active in facilitating knowledge-sharing and professional development exchanges with Sierra Leone, particularly in areas of health, agriculture, and education. The upcoming Policy Makers Program in India marks another step in that direction.
