Sierra Leone has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to launch the YouthConnektAf for Mano River Countries initiative. The program aims to bring together talented youth from Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire to create sustainable solutions for regional challenges. The partnership was announced by Mohamed Orman Bangura, Minister of Youth, in a tweet on December 20, 2023.

The YouthConnektAf for Mano River Countries initiative is part of the UNDP’s efforts to strengthen regional integration and advance peace and security in the Mano River countries. The program is based on the core principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will ensure stronger regional cooperation among the MRU countries and between the countries and UNDP in areas of mutual concern to enhance the effectiveness of their development efforts1.
This partnership is a significant step towards creating a better future for the youth of Sierra Leone and the Mano River countries. It will provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents and work together to create sustainable solutions for regional challenges.
