As the year 2023 comes to a close, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) continues to uphold its commitment to transform football in Sierra Leone. The second edition (2023/24) of the National Women’s League kicked off on Saturday, December 23, at the Southern Arena in Bo City. The opening exhibition match between defending champions Mogbewmo Queens and the hosts Ram-K FC was witnessed by the President of the SLFA, Thomas Daddy Brima, Minister of Sports Madam Augusta James Teima, and Madam Ramatulai Kamara, member of the SLFA Executive Committee.
The current title holders gave a loud announcement of their rerun to the new league season with an outstanding performance that earned them a decent 1:0 win.
Addressing fans and players at the Southern Arena before kickoff, President Thomas Daddy Brima expressed great delight “to see such an amazing ambiance in the celebration and promotion of the women’s game.” President Brima further stressed on SLFA’s unflinching dedication to developing female football as he encouraged players to put premium on not just football but also their educational career
