Sierra Leone has secured a spot in the West Africa Football Union’s under-20 women’s Championship clash with Senegal after a thrilling 2-1 win over Guinea Bissau on Friday night at the Southern arena.
The Shooting Starlets played well, with Sallay Turay and Juliet Brima scoring the two goals in the second half to clinch the position.
Sierra Leone’s Juliet Brima was awarded Woman of the Match for her brilliant display. The team’s coach, Hassan Malik Mansaray, lauded their performance and urged supporters to rally around them for the upcoming game against Senegal.
The two sides will battle it out on Monday, with Senegal leading the way with six points after two matches played, while hosts Sierra Leone has secured four points after two matches played at the Southern.
