The creator and CEO of True Lawyer, attorney Shymane Robinson, is now the youngest Black attorney to have a law office on Chicago’s Southside.
Shymane Robinson founded a real estate and trademark law firm at the age of just 31, and it now has two locations in the city and works to improve black neighbourhoods.
Shymane Robinson company is also the first in the nation to ever provide a Trademark Guarantee, and she wants to assist small and Black-owned businesses in taking control of their brand and maximizing the value of their assets through real estate.
“Regardless of their success rate, lawyers are frequently rewarded for putting in long hours and billing as much as they can.
As a result clients often receive expensive legal bills with minimum results making it impossible for small businesses to afford legal representation,” says Shymane.
Intellectual property protections account for more than $8 trillion in economic activity, according to the USPTO.
It’s imperative that small businesses have access to gain ownership of patents, trademarks, and copyrights allowing them to gain exclusive ownership and be compensated for their creative inventions and ideas helping to close the wealth gap.
