Sierra Leonean politician and youth activist Sheku Foryoh, who is contesting for the position of APC Diaspora Young Congress Leader, has urged young people to believe in their dreams and remain persistent in the face of rejection.

In a motivational message shared on his Facebook page, Foryoh said young people’s dreams are valid and their voices and actions matter, despite frequent discouragements.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but your dreams are valid, your voice is necessary and your action matters,” he said.

Reflecting on his journey as a young politician, Foryoh said he has travelled widely and engaged with high-level decision-makers, but often faced rejection and scepticism.

“There are many moments I’ve heard the words ‘no’, ‘impossible’ and ‘be realistic’ as I try to do my work,” he noted.

According to him, those experiences taught him the importance of remaining bold, audacious and relentless in the pursuit of change. He said progress does not come easily, but persistence is key.

Foryoh linked his message to the broader political ambition of the All People’s Congress (APC), expressing confidence that the party will return to power.

“Change will come. APC back to power,” he said.

His remarks have resonated with young supporters within the diaspora, as discussions continue around youth participation, leadership renewal and the role of young people in shaping Sierra Leone’s political future.
