Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, a renowned Sierra Leonean activist and Director of the Society for Democratic Initiatives (SDI), has called on the media and civil society organizations to be agents of change during a post-election National Dialogue session with Civil Society and Media practitioners in Sierra Leone. The session was held at the Radiason Blue Hotel.
During his speech, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai emphasized that as civil society groups and the media, it is their responsibility to engage in conversation. He added,
It is time to have a conversation among us. The civil society and the media are supposed to be agents of change, agents of democratisation.
Furthermore, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai noted that during an event organized last week, he stated that their organization, the Society for Democratic Initiatives (SDI), is not a political instrument. He highlighted that their organization aims to bridge the gap between the government and the citizens.
