The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has successfully restored water services to Makeni in Northern Sierra Leone, following a recent disruption.

Residents of Makeni experienced several days without water due to mechanical issues at the Wusum Treatment Plant, a key facility managed by SALWACO. In response to this challenge, SALWACO’s leadership, led by Managing Director Ing. George Lamin Vandi and Deputy Managing Director Apostle Dr. Albert Harrison Harvey, quickly mobilized a team to address the situation.

The team, which included Director of Operations Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie, Maintenance Manager Ing. Abu Kallon, who also serves as the Acting Head of Maintenance, and Station Manager Ing. Emmanuel Bayoh from the Makeni branch, worked diligently to implement an emergency response plan. Their efforts culminated in the swift restoration of water supply to the township.

The resumption of water services has been met with relief and appreciation from the residents of Makeni. SALWACO remains committed to ensuring the availability of clean and safe drinking water across its operational areas outside Freetown. This commitment aligns with the company’s broader goal of supporting sustainable development through reliable water supply, as well as maintaining quality service and profitability.

SALWACO encourages all customers to continue fulfilling their payment obligations for water services, as these funds are critical to sustaining the company’s operations and future development projects.
