Residents of Lower Bambara and neighbouring chiefdoms have appealed to the government to restore electricity supply and fix deteriorating road networks in the area.

Community members recalled that the Dodo hydro dam once supplied electricity to Panguma and surrounding communities before a transformer was reportedly stolen during the civil war.

They said the lack of electricity has persisted for more than two decades, affecting healthcare delivery, education and economic activities. Residents also raised concerns about poor road conditions linking Panguma, Njagor and parts of Kono District.

The affected communities have called on the Ministry of Energy and other authorities to urgently address the situation, noting the area’s agricultural and mineral potential.
