Sierra Leone’s Rejoice Terefa Kamara wins Little Miss Africa in Uganda
Rejoice Terefa Kamara, age five, has become the first Sierra Leonean to win the Little Miss Africa Pageant held at the Pearl of Africa Hotel, Uganda. She won the Little Miss Africa continental pageant ahead of Reatlegile Tihabi of South Africa, Valeria Adoyo of Kenya, Poni Kate Angel Kennedy of South Sudan, and Daniella Mukanza of Uganda.
Rejoice Terefa Kamara popularly known as Terry Kay is a musician, actress and model.
The Little Mister and Miss Africa is a continental pageant for both boys and girls between the age of 4 to 16 years old. It’s aimed at providing a positive space for young Africans to celebrate the rich, diverse and dynamic African culture and heritage. According to the organizers of the event, Little Mister and Miss Africa are to empower young children in Africa and made them realize their potential through a competitive, collaborative effort, building confidence through professional opportunities and cultural diversity.
Rejoice is not the only Sierra Leonean kid that made it to Uganda to represent Sierra Leone. She was accompanied by Treasure Lucy Kalloa. The two beautiful princesses made it to the continental grand finals, becoming the first Sierra Leoneans to do so. But it was Rejoice who emerged as the winner of the 2022 Little Miss Africa.
