In his Facebook post, Basiru thanked Allah for this remarkable achievement, expressing his gratitude for the recognition of his hard work in promoting youth empowerment in Sierra Leone and Africa as whole. His words show his dedication and passion for advocating for the rights and welfare of young people on the continent.

Basiru’s success is an inspiration to other young Sierra Leoneans who aspire to become leaders and make a difference in their communities. His recognition on the list of the 100 Most Influential Young Leaders in Africa is a testament to his hard work and commitment to empowering young people.

In his post, Basiru also emphasized the importance of staying humble even in the face of success. He recognizes that his achievement is just the beginning of a long journey and that he needs to remain focused and continue working hard to achieve his goals.

Basiru’s invitation to the 5th Edition of THE CONVERGENCE, Accra, Ghana, to be part of the gathering of Africa’s Most Influential Leaders, is a great opportunity for him to network and learn from other leaders on the continent. This platform will allow him to share his experiences, ideas, and strategies with other young leaders, and to collaborate with them to bring about positive change in Africa.

Not too long ago Basiru opted to run for the mayoral position in Freetown which brought in mix reactions from different parties. He made it plain that he is not too young to run for any political position as he feels ready and prepared and equipped with fresh perspectives to effect change.

Festus is also the Africa Focal Point of Youth for Change Initiative, which is a platform through which young people can access resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of society who will participate in the development of their communities and nation.
