Sierra Leone’s highly anticipated first-ever blockbuster political drama series, ‘BORMEH (The Dark Cradle),’ stars Christiana Kamara, a renowned actress and producer, as Her Excellency the First Lady of the Republic, Mrs. Antonia Wright. The series has received approval for global premieres across three major continents following the release of a 12-minute making-of documentary. ‘Bormeh’ will be premiered in North America, Europe, and Africa between September 2024 until July 2025, setting a global record before its official release.
In a flyer circulated on social media, ‘Bormeh’ is announced to premiere in London (UK), Maryland (USA), Winnipeg, Edmonton (Canada), New York (USA), and Freetown (Sierra Leone). Dr. Isatu Kakay-Diallo, one of the executive producers, expressed her excitement about the series’ release in these three major continents. She hopes that the show will serve as an eye-opener for people to understand the predicament in Sierra Leone, her home country. “ I am very excited as we come close to release of the series.

Fatu Formeh Kamara, another executive producer of the Bormeh Series who lives in the United States, is also excited about the completion and upcoming premiere dates for multiple continents. “This is a big news for my home country Sierra Leone and the entertainment industry as it will give us the opportunities for our work to be recognised on global stage” Fatu Formeh Kamara told Salone Messenger during an exclusive interview online.

Director, Producer, Executive Producer and Cinematographer Idrissa Barry Jalloh noted during an interview with Salone Messenger that over the years, Sierra Leone has been faced with many challenging issues affecting its citizens which he said according to him believes that filmmakers should champion sharing those stories “ I believe as a filmmaker, it is our responsibility to address some of these stories using our voices, tools, and art to raise awareness on the number of challenges we faced as a country “
