Over $94 Million Worth of Illicit Drugs Destroyed in Sierra Leone

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), together with Office of National Security (ONS) Sierra Leone, Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), Pharmacy Board, and the National Task Force on Drugs and Substance Abuse, destroyed over $94 million worth of illicit drugs.

The drugs were set ablaze in the presence of authorities concern and the media at the Transnational Organization Crime Unit headquarters, Hastings in Freetown on Friday 19th July 2024.

The destroyed drugs also include contraband drugs arrested by the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone.\Head of the Law Enforcement Pillar stated that his office together with the security sector responsibility is to go after the suppliers to cut the supply chain and also go after the users in their gathering points.
