National Sports Authority Chairman Launches Anti-Kush Campaign in Freetown
In a nationwide effort to combat the spread of kush, a potent and harmful drug, National Sports Authority (NSA) Chairman Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai led an anti-kush campaign in Yams Farm, located in Freetown’s eastern region. The event, organized by Director Alie Sesay, featured a spirited football gala, where individuals impacted by kush and other drugs openly identified themselves and took part in the activities, showing resilience and courage.
The campaign saw a strong turnout, drawing in community members from all walks of life, including bike riders, female footballers, market women, and children. The event emphasized the importance of proactive community involvement in tackling the kush epidemic, which has affected many youth in Sierra Leone.
Chairman Abdulai highlighted the critical role of community-led initiatives in addressing the drug’s impact, stressing that engaging youth through sports is a meaningful way to address substance abuse issues and promote awareness. The campaign reflects a broader push by local leaders to eliminate the scourge of kush in every community across the nation.
