The National Sports Authority (NSA) Boss, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has officially congratulated Sierra Leone’s Senior National Football Team for their remarkable achievement in winning the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) A Women’s Cup 2025.
Dr Abdulai, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Sierra Queens following their historic triumph at the 2025 WAFU A Women’s Cup in Mauritania.
In his congratulatory message, the NSA Boss praised the team’s outstanding achievement, describing the victory as a proud moment for Sierra Leone and a reflection of years of hard work and investment in women’s football. “Congratulations to the Sierra Queens for historically winning the WAFU A Women’s Cup 2025 in Mauritania. The people of Sierra Leone are proud of you,” Abdulai stated.
Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai emphasized that this landmark success would not have been possible without the government’s continued support and investment in sports development. He credited President Julius Maada Bio’s administration for its unwavering commitment to promoting women’s football through consistent backing of the Women’s Premier League.
“The government’s continued unwavering support for the female Premier League has helped develop a strong national team,” he noted, highlighting how these efforts have laid a solid foundation for the Sierra Queens’ rise to regional prominence.
The NSA Director-General also applauded the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) for its role in the team’s preparation and coordination. “Thanks to the SLFA for planning and coordinating this at the highest level,” he added.
