Musa Tombo Kamara, a famous forward of Leone Stars, visited the Minister of Sports Madam Augusta James-Teima at her office in Bishop house, Freetown. He expressed his congratulations and assured her of his full support during her term.
The Minister greeted him warmly and thanked him for his visit. She said, “I am very happy to see you and welcome you as my son. I have been waiting for this wonderful chance to have a conversation with you. You have a lot to contribute to your country in terms of success and achievements for Leone Stars.” She became the first female Sports Minister in Sierra Leone since the start of multi-party democracy. She took over from Ibrahim Nylenkeh as the Sports Minister, as announced by the Office of the President State House on July 15, 2023.
The Ministry of Sports aims to create and implement policies and programmes that will support and enhance Sports across the Country; to foster the physical and mental wellbeing of Sierra Leoneans, to build the skills of youths and young adults in Sports to achieve excellence at national and international levels, and to cultivate a spirit of fair competition, unity and love among the people.
