24-year-old Jimmy Donaldson, more widely known as Mr. Beast, is a YouTuber with a mission to make the world a better place. On his recent campaign, Donaldson selected 1,000 blind people from across the world and sponsored their eye surgeries, bringing light back into their lives.

In his endeavor to cure blindness, Mr. Beast teamed up with Jeff Levenson, a surgeon from Florida. According to Levenson, the technology exists to fix half the cases of blindness in the world, and typically these surgeries take only 10 minutes. Unfortunately, a lack of resources can often prevent people from receiving the necessary treatment.

Donaldson and his team contacted homeless shelters and identified individuals with cataracts who were unable to afford the needed surgery. After connecting with SEE International, Donaldson was able to provide 1,000 patients from countries such as Namibia, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, Vietnam, and Kenya with the opportunity to receive the surgery.

The reaction of the patients was one of disbelief that someone would help them and pay for their surgery. A video uploaded by Mr. Beast features the before-and-after reactions of some of the patients, and it serves to restore faith in humanity. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Beast and his team, 1,000 blind people can now see the world anew.
