Media Matters for Women (MMW) has wrapped up a four-day workshop series across ten communities in Bombali District, focusing on raising awareness about underage FGM.
The first two days brought together teachers and schoolchildren, who learned about child rights and the risks of FGM through interactive activities. Pupils formed advocacy clubs to continue spreading awareness in their schools and communities.
The second phase engaged parents and guardians, encouraging open conversations about the impact of underage FGM and helping families explore safer cultural practices.
Supported by the Frontline Women’s Fund, the sessions highlight MMW’s dedication to protecting girls and promoting informed community dialogue.
