28 years old Nigerian, Victoria Oluboyo has been elected as a City Councillor in Parma, Italy. Women Doing It Afraid posted the news on Facebook where they said she ran for the same office 5 years ago but did not win. Today, the 28 years old Nigerian woman has placed an indelible mark on history’s lane as she has become the first black person to be elected city councillor in Parma, Italy.

Before the 28-year-old Nigerian was elected as Parma, Italy’s first black city councillor, she actively participated in human rights activities. Her objective had always been to represent the minority in her community as an Afro-Italian feminist. According to her campaign, she is particularly interested in women, young people, immigrants, and university students.

In her words, “for years within the territorial and national associations, I have dealt with multiple discrimination related to sexual orientation, gender, racism and the fight against organized crime.”

The 28-year-old Nigerian woman representing her ethnicity admirably in the Italian city of Parma has had several significant positions that helped prepare her for her current work. She was employed as a social analyst by NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy in Varese, Italy, from October 15, 2018, to October 26, 2018.

She worked as a servizio Civile at Prefettura di Parma from July 15, 2019, to July 15, 2020. Worked as a student representative at UDU por Giurisprudenza, Scienze Politiche Servizio Sociale. became the assistant administrative officer at the Prefettura di Parma, Italy, from March 2021 till the present. Oluboyo was a student representative at UDU for Giurisprudenza, Scienze Politiche e Servizio Sociale and attended the University of Parma to study law.

The 28-year-old Nigerian has always been convinced of the value of having a platform on which to spread her message. She is a blogger and the proprietor of Oltre blog, a website dedicated to sharing up-to-date news on feminism, immigration laws, and current events. Simply because she thinks that individuals shouldn’t be judged based on their appearance, prejudice, or preconceptions, she named her platform Oltre.
