The Founder and Country Director of Commit and Act Foundation Sierra Leone, Madam Hannah Bockarie has on Saturday 11th November 2023 awarded by Spring of Joy Ministries’ Visionary Awards 2023 for her contribution to humanity in the areas of child protection, women empowerment and sustainable agricultural development.
The Spring of Joy Ministries’Visionary Awards 2023 is organized to honour and celebrate individuals, organizations and institutions for making a difference and impact in the society.
Madam Hannah Bockarie has been pivotal in mainstreaming gender equality, women empowerment and child protection. Her local organization established in 2010, Commit and Act Foundation Sierra Leone has gained international recognition for the provision of shelter, clothing, food, psychosocial, medical, educational and legal support to Survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) in 3 Districts in Sierra Leone. She is a staunch ANTI-FGM advocate and has supported thousands of uncut girls with educational materials, health advices, and medical screening.
Over 800 Parents of the uncut girls have benefitted from business skills, agriculture and livelihood support worth millions of New Leones.
Through her active engagement in agriculture, she has invested in over 1,000 Acres of farmlands in Moyamba, Bo, Tonkolili and Bombali Districts.
