Sierra Leone’s national football team, Leone Stars, has begun their final preparations ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Egypt in the ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, arrived in Cairo on Monday evening and immediately visited the team’s training ground to assess their readiness.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Abdulai expressed optimism about Leone Stars’ chances, hinting at the possibility of an upset against the Pharaohs. He also confirmed discussions with head coach Mohamed Kallon, who remains focused and appreciative of the logistical support provided to the squad.
“I arrived in Cairo this evening and drove straight to the training field for Leone Stars’ first official training at the match venue. We are preparing for an upset against Egypt later today. I spoke to the coach, legendary Mohamed Kallon, and he is pretty determined for the game and appreciative of the logistical support provided for the team,” Abdulai stated.
