About Star Zee:
Born Linda Samai, Star Zee is a celebrated hip-hop and dancehall artist from Freetown, Sierra Leone. Her father, Mr. Patrick Samai, was a vocalist in a military dance band, and her mother, Mrs. Sombo Samai, is a medical nurse. Star Zee’s musical journey began at 14 when she joined Stress Inc Records. She started with the group Ladies Day Out (L.D.O), which released the album “Focus On Africa” in 1998. In 2003, she embarked on a solo career and has since released five albums, including “Collabo.” Star Zee has toured internationally, performing in the UK and Australia, and has collaborated with artists like Nigeria’s Patoranking and Ghana’s Stonebwoy. Her collaboration with Stonebwoy earned her the “Best Collaboration of the Year” award. In 2022, she was honored as the “Dancehall Artist of the Year” at the Global Music Awards.
