Dr. Kakay-Diallo highlighted the potential consequences for future generations if decisive steps are not taken to eradicate Kush. She expressed concern that the long-term effects of Kush could significantly impact the health and well-being of upcoming generations. These risks include neurological issues such as poor cognition, confusion, brain damage, seizures, and stroke. Additionally, Kush intake may lead to respiratory or cardiac problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, and liver damage.
It is crucial that the government and relevant authorities prioritize efforts to curb Kush usage, safeguarding the health of Sierra Leone’s youth and ensuring a brighter future for all.
