Sierra Leonean defender Abdulai Juma Bah is reportedly keen to secure a permanent move away from Manchester City, but sources close to Brentford FC say the English club is not actively pursuing a transfer for him at this time.

Bah, born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, began his career with AIK Freetong before moving on loan to Freetonians SLIFA and later catching the eye of scouts in Europe. His breakthrough came at Real Valladolid, where he made ten appearances in La Liga and became the first Sierra Leonean to play in Spain’s top flight. However, his displays earned him several offers from clubs in Europe.

Manchester City exercised his release clause of €6 million in January 2025 to sign him from Valladolid. The player’s release clause was exercised as per the rules governing the Spanish League, which enabled City to benefit from his talents for the training of the player.

Since joining City, Bah has not yet featured for the first team. Instead, he has spent time on loan to continue gaining experience at a high level. He played the latter half of the 2024–25 season on loan at RC Lens in France’s Ligue 1, where he made ten league appearances. Following that spell, he moved on loan to OGC Nice for the 2025–26 season, where he has continued his development in French football.

The 19-year-old player is gradually developing into a promising youth player from Sierra Leone. The player stands 1.95 metres tall. This player also happens to be a defender and a centre-back. This player also happens to be a part of the Sierra Leone international team. This player assists the team’s defence.

Although Brentford has been rumored to be interested in signing Bah, within Brentford, he is not being actively sought after for a potential transfer or signing. This means that currently, his future may very well be with a different club in terms of loan signings or what he needs to develop in the future.

With his increasing prospects in European football, his intent remains on leaving his mark in competitive leagues and establishing himself as a defender who can play in the best leagues in the world. He intends to leave his mark in competitive leagues, which also shows his intentions ofmoving on in his career, despite his parent club, Manchester City, keeping tabs on his progress.
