Former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, has continued his engagement with grassroots supporters of the All People’s Congress (APC), holding discussions with party members in Jerehun, Kenema District.
The engagement in Jerehun forms part of a broader outreach by Kamara across several parts of the country. Similar meetings have recently taken place in Pujehun District, Bonthe District, and Bo District, where he met with party supporters and community stakeholders.
According to Kamara, the engagements are aimed at strengthening unity within the APC, promoting accountability, and encouraging inclusive participation in the party’s affairs. He said listening to grassroots members is important in shaping the party’s future direction and ensuring that policies reflect the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens.
Kamara, who previously served as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, said his legal background and public service experience continue to guide his contributions to national and party development. He noted that effective leadership requires strong institutions, respect for the rule of law, and active involvement of party members at all levels.
During the meeting in Jerehun, APC members discussed issues affecting the party at the community level, including organisation, mobilisation, and the need for unity ahead of future political activities. Party supporters welcomed the engagement and described it as an opportunity to directly share their views with a senior party figure.
Political observers say grassroots engagement remains a key feature of party organisation in Sierra Leone, especially as parties prepare for future leadership and national governance responsibilities. They note that such interactions help build trust, improve internal cohesion, and strengthen party structures.
Kamara said the APC remains focused on positioning itself for national leadership through internal unity, accountability, and inclusive politics. He encouraged party members to remain committed to peaceful engagement and democratic processes.
The outreach activities are expected to continue in other parts of the country as party leaders intensify consultations with supporters nationwide.
