Jagaban Commits Over Le 1.1 Billion to Strengthen APC Northwest Ahead of 2028

Sheikh Alhaji Chief Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, has made one of the most significant financial interventions within the All Peoples Congress (APC) in recent times, investing over NLe 1.18 billion to support the extension and strengthening of the party’s Northwest Regional Office, Bai Bureh Hall, in Masiaka, Port Loko District.

Jagaban, a leading APC flagbearer aspirant, announced the donation as part of his broader effort to rebuild party structures and position the APC for a strong return to power in the 2028 general elections. The contribution, totaling NLe 1,187,500,000, was described by party officials as a decisive boost to organizational capacity in one of the party’s most strategic regions.

Apart from party politics, Jagaban also emphasized the importance of religious tolerance and social harmony. He gave another donation of NLe 200,000 to support various churches and mosques in Masiaka, which was well appreciated by the community leaders and the population in the area, in line with his previous messages of unity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect between people of different religious and cultural backgrounds.

The donations were formally received by senior APC figures, including Northwest Regional Chairman Hon. Kombo Kamara, Port Loko District Chairman Mr. Alie Summah, Kambia District Chairman Dr. Adikali Sesay, and Karene District Chairman Mr. Amadu Bangura. The event drew a large crowd of party supporters and community members, many of whom described the occasion as a turning point for APC activities in the region.

In addressing the supporters, Jagaban argued that Sierra Leone was at a critical moment and needs to be transformed. He emphasized that leadership should be accompanied by the ability to mobilize resources, noting that financial power was necessary for rebuilding party institutions, energizing grassroots structures, and running a credible campaign nationwide.

He emphasized the need for unity in the APC and cautioned against factionalism and political cliques. According to him, the future of the party depends on inclusive leadership that respects existing structures and brings all stakeholders on board. He pledged to work with party elders, youth, women, and regional executives if entrusted with leadership.

Jagaban also praised the former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma, for his contribution to the development of the APC and laying a foundation that needed to be built upon, not torn apart.

The ceremony was closed with an Award of Recognition presented to Jagaban, recognizing his leadership, financial dedication, and humanitarian efforts. In essence, for many APC supporters in the Northwest, Jagaban’s intervention in Masiaka was not just a development of critical infrastructure but also a political statement of Jagaban’s intentions, ambitions, and preparedness to lead.

In light of the 2028 polls, Jagaban’s move in Masiaka has positioned him as a key figure in the internal conflict of the APC, a conflict that is likely to continue reshaping the political landscape of the APC.
