Isha Johansen, a Sierra Leonean FIFA Council Member and CAF Executive Committee Member, was one of the presenters at the 2023 FIFA’s The Best Player Awards ceremony held in London.
Along with Nigerian female football icon Perpetua Nkwocha, she presented the award for THE BEST FIFA WOMEN’S GOALKEEPER to English goalkeeper Mary Earps 1.
Madam Johansen was dressed in a dazzling and gorgeous dress, and carried the award trophy with a majestic walk of a superwoman. After Mary Earps was pronounced the winner by Perpetua Nkwocha, Isha presented the award to her, congratulating her with hugs and smiles. The two African female football icons were ushered on stage by co-host, French football legend, Thierry Henry.
Isha Johansen has been representing FIFA and CAF across the globe over the years 1. She is an Exco of both FIFA and CAF, and is ever ready to respond to calls to duty. She has achieved many milestones in football governance, including becoming the first female FA President in Sierra Leone and the second in Africa, a CAF Executive Committee Member, a FIFA Council Member, and the FIFA Board Member. She is the first and only Sierra Leonean to achieve these heights in football governance. Her participation as a presenter at the 2023 FIFA’s The Best Player Awards ceremony was a show of honour and appreciation for her global reach and her dedication to the growth of the game across the world
