Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a message of congratulations to Sierra Leone ahead of the country’s Independence Day celebrations.

In a statement released on Sunday, President Pezeshkian extended his warm wishes to President Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

He described the moment as significant, highlighting Sierra Leone’s journey, unity, and progress over the years.

President Pezeshkian also expressed hope for stronger relations between Iran and Sierra Leone, noting that with the commitment of leaders from both countries, there is great potential to expand cooperation across different sectors.

Sierra Leone marks its Independence Day on April 27 each year, celebrating its freedom from British colonial rule in 1961.
