Africell Sierra Leone has partnered with IP Infusion to launch a high-capacity disaggregated IP/MPLS backbone to provide mobile and fixed services.
The operator will deploy a scalable IP backbone network to handle the increased traffic resulting from its 4G coverage and in preparation for the introduction of 5G. Africell will use the IP Infusion OcNOS Network Operating System and Edgecore hardware switches for its new backbone infrastructure.
Pine Networks, a systems integrator based in Paris, will develop and deliver the turn-key project, including network design, proof of concept, integration, and traffic migration. Africell chose a disaggregated routing solution for its flexibility and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional solutions. This partnership expands IP Infusion’s global footprint and highlights its ability to deliver innovative, performance-driven, and cost-effective products in the international market.
