We made history on July 6 at the San Jose City, California, as the Sierra Leone community came together for the biggest awards event in the Westside of the United States.
The Inaugural Salone Awards of Excellence celebrated individuals from all walks of life who have made significant contributions to the Salone community, both at home and abroad.
The night belonged to the acclaimed Reggae King, IJAHNATE, who took home an impressive three awards: Album of The Year for “D GAME DON BIG”, Best Music Video of The Year for “LAST NIGHT” featuring Rozzay Sokota, and Artist of The Year.
Other notable winners included THY Young, who won Best Music Producer for his work on “D Game Don Big”, Salone Winnerman, who took home Best Performing Artist of The Year, and DJ. Leone, who won Best DJ of The Year.
The event featured special guest performances by legendary artists Lyrical Paparel Pupa Bajah and Papa Klass of Dry Eye Crew, making it a night to remember.
We are proud to have brought the Sierra Leone community together to celebrate our achievements and honor our modern heroes. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making it bigger and better every year!
