Guinea Bissau has released a squad list ahead of their upcoming match against Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars on September 11, 2023. Both Guinea Bissau and Nigeria have already qualified for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations Tournament in Ivory Coast.
The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that John Keister will continue as the head coach for the Leone Stars’ final Group A AFCON qualifier against Guinea Bissau. There were rumors of a new coach being appointed, but Keister will lead the team. The Technical Team contract is valid until the end of August 2023.
In preparation for the match, the Sierra Leone national senior men’s team has invited 30 home-based players to begin training on August 19, 2023. Despite already being eliminated, Sierra Leone will play their final match to conclude the AFCON qualifiers. They currently sit in third place in Group A.
