A group of six children between the ages of 5 and 13, known as Ghetto Kids, have achieved global success despite coming from slum communities in Uganda.

The group was founded in 2014 by Daouda Kavuma and gained recognition after featuring in the music video for French Montana’s hit song “Unforgettable” in 2017.

Since then, the group has performed at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar and at a Paris Saint-Germain football match in France. In April 2023, Ghetto Kids appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and received the golden buzzer from new judge Bruno Tonioli mid-performance, making them the first ever contestant to receive this honor in the show’s history.

The group will compete for the show’s first prize of £250,000 on June 4th, 2023. Winning the competition would mean a bigger house for the 30 children currently sharing a five-bedroom house in Kampala, where they are looked after by Daouda Kavuma. Ghetto Kids hope to inspire other disadvantaged children around the world to believe that they too can achieve their dreams.
