A moment of kindness by a Ghanaian police officer has touched many people online after a video of the incident was shared on X by GhanaWeb.

According to the video footage, the incident occurred when the driver came up to the police officer and told him that he had run out of fuel and was stranded. He told the officer that he had no cash with which to buy fuel in order to proceed with his journey.

Instead of turning the driver away, the police officer listened to him and chose to help. The officer sent money to the driver through mobile money (MoMo) so he could buy fuel and get back on the road. The act was simple, but it made a big difference to the driver at that moment.

The story did not end there. After he had been aided he surprised the officer with a substantial amount of money. Apparently, this act of generosity was his way of thanking the officer for being kind to him when he needed help. He said the officer made him felt he had a helper.

The video has since attracted praise from many people on social media. For instance, some of the users were pleased with the officer’s move and referred to it as a good example of compassion.

The act, in some ways, attracted many people to the police, as it made them realize that the person inside the uniform is also human enough to care. This, in turn, improved the police’s public image.
