Fudia Kargbo is a single mother from Sierra Leone who has been struggling to make ends meet for her and her child. After her divorce, she was unable to find steady employment and had to resort to selling fowl feather for a meager income. Despite the difficult circumstances, Fudia never gave up hope and kept searching for a way to make things better for her and her child.
Thanks to the generous support of the Sierra Leonean people at home and abroad, Fudia is finally getting the help she needs. Residents of Sierra Leone have donated money, food, and other essential items, while a GoFundMe campaign launched by one of Sierra Leone’s utmost humanitarian journalist Chernor Pottal Bah who also happened to take a video of her that went viral has managed to raise money to help Fudia Kargbo.
With the donations given by generous individuals, Fudia has been able to find stable employment at a local store and provide an appropriate, safe and healthy environment for her and her child. Fudia says that she is grateful and deeply humbly that so many people have showed great generosity, compassion and understanding towards her plight.
