Chozen Generation Sierra Leone (CGSL) has named Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, as one of the 10 Most Outstanding Sierra Leoneans of 2022.

This recognition is in recognition of his work to create a platform for young people to showcase their talents and to promote Sierra Leone‘s culture and stories to the world through the AYV on DSTV initiative. Ambassador Navo Jr has been the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the Most Credible Africans Award, Man of the Year Award from the Women’s Group – Sisters Choice, Lifetime Achievement Award from National Entertainment, Most Influential Person of the Year – Sierra Leone, and many more.

He was also featured in the 2020 list of 100 Most Reputable Africans, alongside Her Worshipful Mayor, Yvonne Aki–Sawyerr – Mayor of the Municipality of Freetown, Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Nigeria’s Dr. Paul Enenche, South Africa’s Prof. Wiseman L. Nkuhlu, Chancellor of the University of Pretoria and Chairman of Rothschild (SA), Guinean Economist Cellou Dalein Diallo and Cameroon’s Dr. Vera Songwe, Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

Ambassador Navo Jr was also awarded the African Achievers Awards as “African Media Entrepreneur of the Year” for his contributions to the media landscape in Sierra Leone. He is a Council Member of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce and a Youth Ambassador in the country.

The AYV Media Empire, which he founded, is the largest private media investment in Sierra Leone and is the only Sierra Leonean-owned television station with a broadcasting house in London. Amb Navo Jr has invested over $10 million United States dollars in AYV Media Empire and recently constructed a multi–million–dollar complex hosting the Housemates – Salone reality tv show.

Amb Navo Jr is also a Co–founder of an International Charity (AWOL – All Works of Life) and has recently completed the construction of a state–of–the–art primary school for the Gondama Community, Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District in Sierra Leone. He is also the current Chairman of the country’s biggest and most successful National Premier League Football Club, the East End Lions Football Club.

He is the founder of Africa’s Wakanda a platform that spotlight the beauty of Africa. Festus is also a perpetual volunteer in life-changing causes and has shown great commitment and dedication to being a catalyst and solution to the challenges faced by young people like himself. Festus currently serves as the Secretary General of the Africa Youth Leaders movement which is a network of youth between the ages of 20 – 30 years who have shown achievement, leadership potential and commitment to make a difference. Festus is also the Africa Focal Point of Youth for Change Initiative, which is a platform through which young people can access resources, be empowered and given the opportunity to grow to become useful members of society who will participate in the development of their communities and nation. Along with another Africa Youth platform, Festus has Co-Founded the Future of Africa initiative which is an advocate forum with the aim to bring together local and international socio-economic stakeholders to support innovative programs aimed at advancing the radical and practical progress of adoption awareness-vulnerable children and youth and youth leadership-through interlinking local, regional and international resources and opportunities.
