Francis Ben Kaifala has expressed his fulfillment and gratitude on his Facebook page after being re-appointed for another term in office.
Kaifala recounted the praise and satisfaction he received from the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments during the renewal process, with members commending the progress made in the fight against corruption under his leadership.
Despite facing opposition when first appointed at the age of 33, Kaifala’s dedication and achievements have earned him resounding support from the committee
He writes;
“As the 1st Anti-Corruption Commissioner whose mandate was renewed after serving a full 5-year term, I must say I felt fulfilled when I returned to face the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments today for my renewed tenure and I sat there listening to them, one after the other, express their satisfaction at the Progress made with the fight against corruption while full of praise for my leadership. They said they do not regret at all standing by me when, as a 33 year old then, there were enormous opposition to my appointment to such High Office”
“It was an emphatic applause from them with encouragement to continue doing more . . .It was truly humbling and beautiful”
Kaifala’s leadership has been instrumental in enhancing the Anti-Corruption Commission’s effectiveness, resulting in notable progress in tackling corruption in various sectors of the country. His re-appointment comes as a testament to his achievements and recognition of his efforts in promoting a corruption-free Sierra Leone.
