The people of Koidu in Kono District held a cultural evening to celebrate heritage, unity, and their partnership with the European Union.
The event brought together the Mayor of Koidu New Sembehun City Council, the Chairman of Kono District Council, traditional leaders, and local residents. It featured music, dance, and performances by community groups and artists.
In a special moment, EU Ambassador Jacek Jankowski was given the traditional title Chief Aiah Foyoh III and dressed in traditional regalia. The honour was a sign of friendship and respect from the people of Kono.
The celebration showed Sierra Leone’s rich cultural identity and the value of partnerships based on respect and community involvement.
The occasion was part of the ongoing EU Bus Tour 2025, which is highlighting development projects and building stronger ties between the EU and Sierra Leone.
