Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, a renowned human rights lawyer, publisher and entrepreneur in Sierra Leone, has written a letter of appreciation to the participants of the U-15 Trophy Tournament that bears his name. The tournament, which was organized by Luawa Football Club Central Academy Campus, concluded on Sunday with Othordox FC emerging as the champions.
In his letter, Abdulai congratulated the winners and expressed his gratitude to all the teams that registered and took part in the four-month youth football competition. He said that he was inspired by the abundance of talent displayed by the young boys and hoped that it would motivate them to pursue their dreams. He also revealed his plans to make the tournament a biannual event, with competitions held twice a year during school holidays, to provide the kids with ongoing opportunities to engage in the sport.
Abdulai thanked the Luawa Academy Central Branch and all other partners for their dedication and proactive approach to making the event a success. He also encouraged the participants to look forward to repeating the experience, taking the lessons learned from the challenges they encountered. He said that together, they could foster solidarity through football.
Abdulai is a lecturer at law and has published several scholarly articles. He is also the founder and publisher of the Salone Times newspaper and the CEO of Premier Media Group, which owns several radio and television stations in Sierra Leone . He is very passionate about sports and youth development.
