Sierra Leone’s Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, a PhD holder, attorney, human rights lawyer, publisher of Sierra Leone’s News Watch newspaper, a football enthusiast who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Luawa Academy, the largest football academy in the country with branches in Kailahun and across Freetown, a civil society practitioner promoting democracy as Director of the Society for Democratic Initiatives (SDI), activist, and one of the founders of the Renaissance Movement of Sierra Leone has been admitted into the Stanford University Graduate School of Business SEED Transformation Program. The program is an eleven-month hybrid program that will see classes in Ghana, Kenya, and then Palo Alto, California. It is designed specifically for business owners and senior management teams, led by Stanford Graduate School of Business faculty and local experts, and is supported by Stanford-trained advisors. The program involves face-to-face and remote class sessions and workshops to gain the strategic skills, methods, and mindsets to transform the candidate, their team, the business, and the community. The ultimate goal is to create and activate a detailed action plan to help the candidate grow their company. Throughout the experience, participants will work in small, facilitated peer groups called Leadership Labs to share experiences, resources, ideas, and support.
The SEED Transformation Program is a highly selective program that aims to empower entrepreneurs in emerging markets with the knowledge, skills, and networks to scale their businesses. The program has been designed to help entrepreneurs overcome their unique challenges in their respective markets. It provides participants with access to world-class faculty from Stanford Graduate School of Business and local experts who have deep knowledge of the local business environment.
Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai (PhD) is a Sierra Leonean attorney, human rights lawyer, publisher of Sierra Leone’s News Watch newspaper, a football enthusiast who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Luawa Academy, the largest football academy in the country with branches in Kailahun and across Freetown, a civil society practitioner promoting democracy as Director of the Society for Democratic Initiatives (SDI), activist, and one of the founders of the Renaissance Movement of Sierra Leone, a community made up of youth who are passionate about improving our country. He teaches law at the prestigious Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
