Christopher Martin has reached out with a calm and reassuring message to his fans after a frightening incident during his performance at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown early Saturday morning.

The Jamaican singer suffered a fall when a portion of the stage gave way beneath him in the middle of his set. The crowd watched in shock as stage crew rushed forward to help him. He was able to stand but was visibly limping as he was guided backstage before being taken to the hospital for an X-ray to check for possible injury.

Doctors later confirmed that he had avoided any serious harm. Event organizers said he is recovering well and is expected to be back on his feet soon.

In a message posted shortly afterward, Martin thanked fans for their concern and tried to put everyone at ease. He wrote that he was grateful for life and grateful for the quick response from those around him. He acknowledged the “technical issues” that caused the fall but assured supporters that he was doing well and resting.

He extended particular thanks to Sierra Leone’s Minister of Tourism and her team for their support and care following the accident. He also expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of prayers and encouraging words from fans in Jamaica, Sierra Leone, and many other countries.

“To the people of Sierra Leone,” he added, “your energy and love lifted me right back up.”

He is now recovering privately, and his team has asked supporters to give him time to heal while continuing to send their good wishes.
