A young Sierra Leonean Broadcast journalist, aspiring climate change activist and current winner of Face of Kailahun District, Janet Jattu Mumgbay Zizer has declared to compete for the Face of Sierra Leone Pageant 2024 set to take place on 12th October 2024.
In a Facebook post, Zizer said “I’am thrilled to declare my participation in the prestigious FACE OF SIERRA LEONE PAGEANT 2024”
Janet noted her excitement to showcase her confidence, talent, and inner beauty on this platform. “I am ready to embrace this opportunity to shine and inspire others.” She added.
Janet Jattu Mumgbay Zizer has worked for Star Television as a producer, reporter, and presenter where she also anchors news around Africa, Janet is the founder and director of Jansuccess network Sierra Leone, a non-profit organization geared towards empowering young women and girls especially single mothers who are struggling to take care of their children and family, Janet is the owner of Jansuccess Glamorous Essentials which is a fashion store for women. Aside from journalism, Janet is also a make-up artist and an entrepreneur.
Growing up with a single mother and two siblings was a challenge for Janet, her mother raised the three of them single handedly, Janet attended saints Joseph’s primary school, Howe street where she completed her primary education, she later moved to a government municipal secondary school where she completed her secondary and senior secondary education, upon completing her senior secondary school. Janet enrolled at Fourah bay college where she started with a certificate in population studies and social statistics, she is currently pursuing her degree In political science at the Fourah bay college university.
The Face of Sierra Leone or also known as Miss Universe Sierra Leone, is a national Beauty pageant in Sierra Leone that selects the winner to represent the country in the Miss Universe, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. The pageant was established in 2016 and the foundation held in 2012 and is considered the biggest pageant in Sierra Leone.
The foundation of IAMSL was debuted in 2012 and launched a pageant to International competitions in 2016 by Swadu Natasha Beckley (former Miss Sierra Leone 2011). In 2018 the Face of Sierra Leone divided onto two national competitions which select the winner to Miss Universe and Miss Earth independently.
