Westlake High School’s Kayla Willis has achieved tremendous academic success after receiving scholarships valued at more than $1.5 million to attend universities across the United States. She originally intended to keep her stunning accomplishment a secret, but was urged by her father to make it public knowledge.

Her immense accomplishment went viral after she took to social media and posted a picture of the acceptances she had gathered throughout high school. Willis described to 11alive how she disabled her phone, then went to work, only to come back to nonstop notification sounds.

On Instagram, Willis described her four years of dedication, motivation and inspiration in a heartfelt post. Additionally, she revealed the extensive number of acceptances, friends who “became family” and rigorous courses she was accepted into.

“So happy to be the young woman I am today,” she concluded her message.
