The head of the National Sports Authority and a key figure in Sport Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has attributed the disappointing loss of the Leone Stars to a formidable Ivory Coast team, as a combination of factors such as poor refereeing, midfield errors, and injuries to key players. ” I will firstly say we lost to a better team. However, it was clear that the referee was very poor against us, we had key players sidelined because of injuries which affected us, plus some midfield blunders, that the Ivorians took advantage of”.
Despite the setbacks, Dr. Abdulai emphasized that the team is in high spirits and fully prepared for the return leg. He assured that all necessary resources and bonuses had been provided to the team, and players are in readiness and determined to secure a victory in the next encounter.
While calling for unwavering motivation and support from fellow Sierra Leoneans, Dr. Abdulai stressed the importance of rallying behind the national team during this critical encounter. “With optimism and a strong sense of unity, the Leone Stars are poised to make a comeback and showcase their resilience on the field”. He said.
The stage is set for an electrifying showdown, where the Leone Stars he said, aim to revenge against the Ivorians and make the nation proud.
